Hello! I am Rae Ryan, a writer of science fiction along with book reviews and recommendations. This is where I write stuff and put it online for other goblins to read instead of going outside into the sun where they might encounter real people-ew.

I read speculative fiction and non-fiction then talk about it on TikTok and here on the blog. I'm constantly diversifying my reading list, centering BIPOC, people with disabilities, queer-folk like myself, and fat people.

I believe the best place to start if you want to create change in the world is with yourself. With knowledge comes the power to intercede in daily acts of violence, both small and large against the people you love and respect. When you are armed with knowledge you can stand up in the face of racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, anti-fat bias and wherever someone is using their power to silence and bully someone who is at a greater disadvantage.

This could be interceding when your uncle makes a racist joke at dinner instead of staying silent, or pushing back when a colleague makes an inappropriate comment or stopping a conversation denigrating women when you're with a group of friends. These things matter.
